Credit Counseling - Rules & Guidelines for Investors

Attorney Carrie Grube-Lybarker, from the Department of Consumer Affairs in Columbia, SC shed a lot of light on the do's and don'ts of credit counseling, credit repair, fees, exempt professionals, disposal of personal identifying information, negotiating with mortgage brokers, etc.

She fielded questions from the audience, and also had some questions of her own about some of the things real estate investors do.  Short sales negotiations, for example, was a big topic in the discussion!  She also addressed licensing issues.

Many real estate investors have good intentions of trying to help buyers and sellers rebuild or salvage their credit.  This presentation reveals how investors, who do so, may be violating laws, unknowingly, and could be challenged by the Department of Consumer Affairs!
