Yahoo groups is a free service that allows users to post a single email (to the list address) which is then automatically distributed to everyone who has signed up for that list. This makes it a VERY powerful communication tool. We have set up the following lists for our investors to use. Upon signing up, you may automatically receive a Welcome Letter (depending on the list). Please read that letter THOROUGHLY prior to any posting you may wish to do.
The Main Yahoo Groups List:Upstate CREIA-a is used to communicate Upstate Carolina Real Estate Investors Association, Inc. (UCREIA) meeting information, reminders, and announcements. This list also gives investors (and support services people) a place to meet and exchange information. This list of nearly 1,600 members services all of the Upstate of South Carolina area as well as adjacent areas of North Carolina as needed by investors.
The Volunteer's List:UpstateCREIAvolunteers has been set up to facilitate communications between Upstate CREIA and its volunteers. Volunteers needs are posted and those wishing to assist can then offer their assistance.
The Legislative List:UCREIA-legislative provides a meeting place for the planning and discussion of legislative activities involving real estate investing. This group is based out of the Upstate area and will be focusing on the real estate investing needs of South Carolina, as well as participating in cooperative efforts with neighboring states.
Rental Focus Group List:Discusses issues of interest to landlords, tenants and property managers, including landlord/tenant law, acquisition and/or lease of rental properties, residential codes, rental announcements, property taxation, grants, and other sources of funds for investing in rental property, insurance options, security and theft of personal property related to rentals. Different topic each month.
